Welcome to June everyone we are just 69 days away from the greatest day in the Maine Summer: Wayne's Wiffle for A Wish returns for Saturday, August 15th.
A lot of you have been part of this for a lot of years so I will just hit some bullet points you need to know
- Registration is open now until Saturday August 8th
- Registration fee is still just $100 for an adult team, and $50 for a youth team (middle school ages Grades 6-8) as long as you send in the registration before midnight July 31. Registration increases to $125 from August 1st through the day of the tournament
- Teams are made up of 3-to-7 players - A maximum of 5 players in a game at a time (Pitcher, 3 fielders, Extra Hitter)
- 3 Adult Divisions Open (top), Classic (midlevel), Executive (here for a good time and to raise money), and a Youth Division
- Champions for all divisions
- Group Draw will be held Sunday August 9th on our Facebook page
And here is one tidbit you may not know, but you should: Through our first 17 years we have raised $238,900, so we are just $11,100 away from hitting the quarter of a million dollar mark for our tournament which is an amazing milestone and we will cross that magical number at some point during the day Saturday, maybe you will buy the whoopie pie that puts us over the number.
We already have one team entered - The Loon Platoon. We have 39 slots remaining to fill. You can pay via VENMO as always - WWFAWM and the code if you need it is 9156.
Remember I've retired from throwing in the Home Run Derby so we're going to have someone else throw those meatballs to you this year (right Carl?).
